The Revolú Art Residency

The Revolú Residency is a short-term, high-impact international artist residency based in Mexico City. It is designed for mid-career or strongly emerging visual artists, curators, and art historians who are actively developing or finalizing a focused project. The program is timed to coincide with Zona Maco 2026, Latin America’s premier contemporary art fair, which attracts international collectors, curators, galleries, and press to Mexico City each year. Residents will not exhibit at Zona Maco itself, but will be embedded in the city’s art ecosystem during this high-visibility moment.

Revolú Gallery operates a satellite space in Mexico City, where the residency program is held. The residency lasts four weeks of focused work. It culminates in a two-week exhibition or public presentation hosted at this gallery space, offering each resident an opportunity to engage with local audiences, visiting professionals, and Revolú’s broader curatorial network.

Our inaugural issue, The Body / El Cuerpo, considers the body not only as subject, but as method, memory, and site of tension. We are interested in work that approaches the body as symbol, structure, obstacle, offering, or aftermath—work that resists easy resolution and engages the body as both presence and pressure.

Additional Notes

  • Previously unpublished work is welcome, as well as work shared informally (zines, blogs, newsletters, etc.)

  • No submission fees

  • Due to volume, not all submissions will receive a personalized response

  • We are especially interested in work by artists from underrepresented communities and global diasporas

Issue 01 — The Body / El Cuerpo
Deadline: January 30, 2026
